- Creating New ISP Files
- -------------=--------
-
- The ISP files are slightly modified versions of the INSTALL.INS files
- created by the Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK)
- widely used by ISPs to install and customise MSIE, either distributed on
- CD or downloaded from their web site. To be used with DUN Manager, the
- file should be copied into the ISP directory and renamed to the name of
- the ISP (leave the INS extension). DUN Manager will then display the
- new name in the ISP Index, and will create a connection for it. If the
- INS file contains logon details, these will be set-up as well. The
- files distributed with DUN Manager are slightly modified, primarily with
- Alternate Telephone numbers added.
-
- The text below the line may be used as template to create new ISP files.
- Note that the only required sections are Entry, Phone, Server, TCP/IP,
- and Alternate_Numbers. If User is completed it will be used, but the
- file should not be distributed! The Internet_Mail, URL, Proxy,
- Internet_News sections will be displayed on the Server tab, but the
- information is not currently used by DUM Manager so don't expend any
- great effort completing those sections.
-
- The alternate telephone numbers appear on the Choose Telephone Numbers
- dialog, and are used for ISPs that have more than one access number.
- The format is a sequential number, area code, local number and optional
- description, per this example. There is no limit to the total numbers
- that may be specified.
-
- 1=01241, 411000, Arbroath
- 2=01226, 236817, Barnsley
-
- Entry_Name is used for the new connection entry name (although I may be
- changed by the user), ISP is an extra option to identify the ISP.
